Family Weekend

Join us on September 27-28, 2024!

We want to personally invite you to attend Harding Family Weekend in 2024! This weekend promises something for everyone and has grown into a special event that you do not want to miss! 

This is a great opportunity to bring prospective students and siblings of current students to campus and see what makes Harding so special. Check out the schedule tab for the other activities during the weekend. We look forward to seeing you and your family on campus.

Current parents are invited to the Parent Network Breakfast on Saturday morning. Complimentary tickets are required and can be reserved closer to the event.

Tickets are available at the door of each event or at hardingtickets.com. You may purchase them when you arrive. Parents, grandparents, alumni and friends, please register for Family Weekend and let us know to expect you! Registration will be available closer to Family Weekend 2024!

When you arrive on campus, stop by the Welcome Center in the lobby of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building to check in and let us know you are here. Refreshments will be served. 

Harding History Tour — Take a walk down memory lane with the self-guided Harding History Tour! Scan the QR codes at iconic campus locations to learn more about the story of our University.

9 a.m. — Chapel, Benson Auditorium

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. — Attend Classes You are invited to attend classes with your student. Come and see what the students are learning! Has it been a while since you attended a college class? Don't miss this opportunity!

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.—   Harding History House Open Explore exhibits Harding: A History Ties That Bind,  Social Clubs at Harding and Harding Traditions, Harding Then and Now. 205 N Lott Tucker Drive.

2-4 p.m. — ROTC Obstacle Course, Front Lawn. 

5 p.m. — “Live at Five” broadcast, Reynolds Center TV studio. You are invited to sit in during the broadcast.

6:30 p.m. — Bluegrass and BBQ presented by Harding Arts & Life Performance Series in conjunction with Searcy Beats and Eats  – Heritage Park, featuring the Casey Penn Band.  To complete the scene, local vendors will be selling barbecue, baked goods and other specialties. Since this event is outdoors, we recommend bringing lawn chairs or blankets to sit on! In case of inclement weather, the event will move inside to the Student Center. 

9 p.m. — Good News Singers Concert and Devotional, Benson Auditorium outdoor steps or McInteer 150 in case of inclement weather.

9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. — Parent Network Breakfast, Cone Chapel, David B. Burks American Heritage Bldg. Reservations required. No charge to attend. 

9 a.m. — Centennial Disc Golf Tournament, Harding Disc Golf Course, Bison Lane, for more information, contact Tom Ritchie at tritchie@harding.edu.

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Harding History House Open, Explore exhibits Harding: A History Ties that Bind , Social Clubs at Harding and Harding Traditions, Harding Then and Now. 205 N Lott Tucker Drive.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. — Family Photos - available in a Harding Swing on the front lawn. $15 for two 5x7's. Other packages available.

Lunch — You may pay at the door of the cafeteria or dine in the Student Center food court.  Food trucks available at the tailgate. 

12 p.m. — Lady Bison softball scrimmage, softball field

3:30 - 6:45 p.m. — Tailgate party and Food Truck Court at Bison Park under the pecan trees in front of the Ganus Activities Complex. Enjoy yard games and more.  Something for all ages. Bring your family. For details visit harding.edu/tailgateHU.

4:40 p.m. — Walk of Brothers with Harding University Drumline - Cheer on the Bison football team in front of the Ganus Activity Complex

5 p.m. — Belles & Beaux Concert, Bison Park, Belles and Beaux is a 13-member vocal and instrumental band sponsored by the Department of Music at Harding University. They perform a wide variety of today's hot new songs as well as the cool hits of yesterday! 

6:25 p.m. — Thundering Herd Marching Band Tailgate Performance, Bison Park

7 p.m. — Bison Football vs. Henderson State, First Security Stadium.  Be on hand for a Great American Conference matchup. Wear your black and gold and cheer for the Bisons. Tickets required$15 reserved seats, $10 adults and $5 student general admission, on sale at hardingtickets.com.
