Nutrition and dietetics program granted full accreditation
The Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics was granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition andDietetics.
A self-study report was submitted by the program in fall 2011 and resulted in a visit of the site in spring 2012. The ACEND board met in October and voted to continue full accreditation of the program. The DPND was first accredited in 2002 and will submit its next study report and receive a site visit in 2022.
“I am delighted with the news of the reaccreditation of Harding University's Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics,” said Dr. Lisa Ritchie, director of dietetics. “This is a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to provide an excellent program built on a foundation of faith.”
ACEND is the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ accrediting agency for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitians or registered dietetictechnicians.
“As a result of the accreditation process, we now have a renewed focus on our program's mission: to provide an academically challenging program, consistent with Christian ideals, as the students' first step toward becoming Registered Dietitians,” Ritchie said.
