Theatre students present an evening of one act plays

Harding University theatre majors Amanda Lane and Dillon Holden will present their one act plays Nov. 8-10.

Lane, a senior from Kissimmee, Fla., has prepared her one act by casting, directing and producing the play “The Snow Show” by Lindsay Price. The show displays winter and the childhood joys of snow activities. The main character, Jenna Lee, experiences seeing snow for the first time through a series of vignettes.

Holden, a senior from Searcy, Ark., will present the one act “Don’t Say Macbeth” by Burton Bumgarner. The play portrays a student struggling reading through Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” in a café located by a theatre. In an attempt to help the student, the waitress asks restaurant guests, who are also actors, to perform the tragedy. An actor steps in from next door and reveals a Scottish curse surrounding the play. The actors portray a number of characters throughout history.

Both shows will be performed Nov. 8-10 at 7 p.m. in the Ulrey Performing Arts Center. Admission is $5 and free for students with a campus passport.
