Graduate Reading Program presents Young Adult Author Series

The Graduate Reading Program of Harding University will begin the 2012-13 Young Adult Author Series Nov. 30.

Jack Gantos, author of the “Joey Pigza” series and “Dead End in Norvelt,” winner of the John Newberry Medal and Scott O’Dell award, will be featured as the first presenter Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The event will be held on campus in Cone Chapel and Heritage Auditorium.

The series will pick up in January with Sharon Draper, author of New York Times bestselling novel “Out of My Mind.” Chris Crutcher, author of the recently published “Angry Management,” will speak in February. The series will conclude in April with Newberry Honor Award-winning author Cynthia Lord, author of “Rules” and “Touch Blue.”

The series will include a Friday night meal, Saturday morning continental breakfast, and an author information packet. The events will also provide graduate credit hours. Event prices include: $125 for one event, $100 for two events and $75 for three or four. In order to receive three hours of graduate credit, an additional $350 is requested and attendance of at least three events.
