More than 400 graduate at December commencement

At the University's fall commencement exercises Dec. 14 in Benson Auditorium, more than 400 graduates received diplomas. Steve W. Reeves, pulpit minister for the West Side Church of Christ in Searcy, was featured as commencement speaker for the ceremony.

Reeves received his bachelor’s in Bible from Harding University in 1983 and a master’s in Biblical studies from Lipscomb University. He has preached for churches in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi for more than 30 years. For 10 years he preached for the Goodman Oaks church in Southaven, Miss., which is the largest congregation among churches of Christ in the state of Mississippi. 

The author of three books and numerous periodical articles, he has spoken in 15 states and nine foreign countries and has appeared on lectureship programs at Harding University, Lipscomb University, Pepperdine University and Crowley’s Ridge College. He has also served as an adjunct instructor in Bible at Crowley’s Ridge College in Paragould, Ark.

Graduates include students from the College of Allied Health, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Sciences. University President Bruce D. McLarty presented the diplomas to the graduates.
