University celebrates 40th annual Spring Sing

Students, alumni and friends of Harding University are coming together March 28-30 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Spring Sing.

The University will be hosting multiple events on campus throughout the weekend, including the 2013 Spring Sing performance, “Larger Than Life,” where more than 1,000 students from 20 different social clubs will perform and compete for cash prizes to donate to charitable organizations.

Spring Sing 2013 will be performed Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m.; Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Benson Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at hardingtickets.com for $10, $12 and $15.

Thursday, March 28

8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Art & Design Branding Show Exhibit — Stevens Art Gallery; Vote on your favorite presentation by putting pocket change into the respective money jar. All funds will go to support White County Habitat for Humanity.

7 p.m. Spring Sing 2013: Larger Than Life — Benson Auditorium, $10; Tickets available at the door.

7 p.m. 

“Smash” — 

Ulrey Performing Arts Center, $10; Tickets available at the door. The play, based upon the novel “An Unsocial Socialist” by George Bernard Shaw and written by Jeffery Hatcher, tells the story of Sidney Trefusis, a millionaire socialist who leaves his bride on his wedding day. Friday, March 29

8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Art & Design Branding Show Exhibit — Stevens Art Gallery

12- 6:30 p.m. Be the Match bone marrow drive — Farrar Center for Health Sciences lobby; Register prospective bone marrow donors ages 18-44 years old. Only a swab of your cheek is required. While participating, register to win prizes from Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut and other eateries. 

1-4 p.m. Harding History House celebrates Spring Sing — 205 N. Lott Tucker Dr.; Programs throughout the years and a brief history of Spring Sing will be on display.

4 p.m. Good News Singers concert — McInteer Plaza

4- 8 p.m. Center for Health Sciences Million Hearts Initiative health fair — Student Center (right next to the Bookstore); All visitors to the fair will receive a free blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening and diabetes screening with results given on the spot.

7 p.m. Spring Sing 2013: Larger Than Life — Benson Auditorium, $12 and $15; Tickets are available at the door.

7 p.m. “Smash” — Ulrey Performing Arts Center, $10; Tickets available at the door.
