Campus mourns loss of graduate student
The Harding University community is mourning the loss of graduate student Courtney Book, 24, of Revere, Mass. Book passed away Oct. 18 from injuries she sustained in a bicycle-car accident in Searcy
Book was a graduate student in the Cannon-Clary College of Education working toward a Master of Arts in teaching degree. She entered Harding in August 2008 majoring in history with a minor in ancient languages and received her B.A. in May 2012. She was a member of Regina social club, and for the past three years she worked as a student assistant with Harding’s annual Lectureship.
Courtney was the daughter of Keith and Martha Book. She is survived by three sisters, Amanda, Heidi and Rebecca. Please remember the Book family in your prayers.
Tuesday's 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. chapel services will be held in Book's honor in Benson Auditorium. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ (709 West Arch). A celebration of her life will follow at 7 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Harding University, Box 12238, Searcy, AR 72149.
