Established in 2011, the Center for Health Sciences includes the College of Allied Health, Carr College of Nursing, and the College of Pharmacy. The Center for Health Sciences was established to enhance collaboration and encourage interprofessional education among all of Harding University’s health-related programs. Organizing these programs into one unit taps the collective expertise and allows for greater efficiency and shared resources among the University's health sciences. The resulting synergy enhances the educational experience for students while elevating professional opportunities for faculty and staff.

Applied Dietetics Practice

The Applied Dietetics Practice program strives to prepare competent, entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists for evidence-based practice in all communities. A first of its kind in Arkansas, the program allows students to complete their online courses and required supervised learning experiences wherever they are located.

Cardiac Function & Intervention Technology

The CFIT program is an industry driven 10-month cohort program that provides specialized training in cardiac function, cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology, cardiac interventional procedures and cardiac device career applications.

Communication Sciences & Disorders

The department of communication sciences and disorders strives to prepare speech-language pathologists in a rigorous academic curriculum with an emphasis on Christian living. Offerings include both undergraduate, graduate, an accelerated dual degree, and a certificate in American Sign Language.

Exercise & Sports Sciences

The department of exercise and sport sciences believes deeply that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Students explore how the body and individuals respond and adapt to physical activity in terms of their movement patterns, physiological processes, and psychosocial interactions.

Nursing

Ranked #1 nursing program in the state of Arkansas, the Carr College of Nursing strives to develop nurses as Christian servants. Offering undergraduate and graduate programs prepares students to perform well in any health care setting. Close faculty-student relationships and mentorships foster personal, academic and professional growth.

Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy seeks to graduate pharmacists (Pharm.D.) who provide patient-centered care that ensures optimal medication therapy outcomes delivered through the highest standards of Christian service.

Physician Assistant Studies

The 28-month Physician Assistant Studies program develops caring physician assistants who practice competent, patient-centered primary care in diverse environments. With thousands of hours of medical training, PAs are versatile, collaborative, and can practice in every state and in every medical setting and specialty.

Physical Therapy

The physical therapy program prepares students to practice contemporary physical therapy from a service-oriented Christian worldview guided by scientific evidence, professional ethics and responsibility. Upon completion of the three-year program (eight consecutive semesters), students will be eligible to sit for the physical therapist licensure examination.

Interprofessional Education

Each semester the Center for Health Sciences hosts interprofessional education (IPE) activities for University colleges in the health sciences field designed to create an opportunity for health care professionals to learn more about how their role interacts with other professionals.
