Is there an online program for the ceremony, or a printed program only?

You can access the program online at harding.edu/graduation. You will also receive several printed copies of the program via mail.

If I want to walk in the next in-person ceremony, how do I get my name on a list to do that?

Yes, you may walk in the next in-person ceremony; however, there are a few things you need to do to process your request.

  • Keep your Harding email active by logging into it periodically. All communication regarding participation in a future commencement ceremony needs to occur through your Harding email.
  • Contact graduation@harding.edu approximately 8 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony in which you wish to walk to make your request known. Once your request is confirmed, check harding.edu/graduation frequently to remain informed about dates, places and times related to the ceremony.
  • Please make sure you keep the cap and gown you have received as you will need academic regalia in order to participate in Commencement. Replacement regalia will only be available for an additional fee.
  • Because your degree was conferred in an earlier semester, your name will not appear in the Commencement program for the future ceremony in which you choose to walk. Please inform your friends and family to avoid any disappointment at not seeing your name in the program. Your name does appear in the program that is being mailed to you for the Aug. 15 ceremony.

What if I don’t want to participate? Can I get a refund of my graduation fee and return my cap & gown?

The graduation fee covers the cost of printing your diploma, your diploma cover, printing the commencement programs, as well as your cap and gown. In a typical year, the fee also covers the cost of producing the commencement ceremony as well as the refreshments at the commencement reception. This year, the cost of mailing the box of momentos and the costs of the included items take the place of food cost of the commencement reception. Students choose not to participate in the on-ground commencement ceremony every year and are not able to return their cap and gown or receive a refund. You are not required to watch or participate in the virtual ceremony if you do not wish to do so.

Will we receive a DVD of the ceremony?

There will not be a DVD version of the ceremony, but you will be able to watch the ceremony at any time at streaming.harding.edu after the live streaming on Aug. 15.

How will we receive diploma covers or programs?

Your diploma covers and programs, along with several other items, will be sent to the address you provided at virtual GradFest or submitted via the Google form sent to your Harding email address July 8. Boxes will be in the mail by Aug. 1 and should arrive prior to virtual commencement Aug. 15. If you live in the Searcy area, your box will be hand delivered to your home.

How do I send my photograph in to be included?

The instructions for submitting your photograph were part of the Google form sent to your Harding email address July 8 and July 23, and the deadline for submitting photos was July 24.

I do not want to participate in the virtual commencement program, can I be exempted?

You do not have to watch the virtual commencement ceremony. Your name will appear in the program and be read as part of the virtual ceremony, and you will receive a box containing your diploma cover, several copies of the program, as well as a few other items.
