A Christian Environment
Harding provides a Christian environment in which spiritual growth is central. In addition to the promotion of scholarly pursuits, the University endeavors to instill within each student a deeper spiritual quality that, coupled with academic growth, enables the student to build a blessed and useful life.
All members of Harding’s administration and faculty are dedicated to building Christian character and responsibility within each student. Harding University is built with Christ as its chief cornerstone. It provides a setting in which Christian training and participation are encouraged. Attendance at chapel and in Bible classes is required, and many other opportunities for spiritual growth are provided.
Chapel is one of the ways we demonstrate to both the world and ourselves that faith in God remains at the center of all we do.
Periodic devotionals beside the Kenneth Davis Lily Pool, in the amphitheater and at other locations enable one to become more aware of the wonders of God’s creation. Christian fellowship and worship are stressed in devotionals held in the various residence halls.

Lectureship is a tradition that is as old as Harding University. Since our very first fall as a four-year college, students and friends of Harding have gathered from across the country and around the world for this special occasion. Lectureship has always been part-homecoming, part-revival, part-intensive Bible study and part-celebration of the University itself.
The Bloom Conference, formerly known as Women in God's Service (WINGS), is an annual conference for women of all ages hosted by the College of Bible and Ministry at Harding. This fun event is hosted each winter and normally draws guests from several states as well as students and employees of Harding.
