Exercise Sports Undergraduate Programs

B.S. in Exercise Science

Students pursuing a B.S. in exercise science develop a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body and its response to acute and chronic exercise. Students learn procedures for assessing health, fitness and performance; how to interpret the results; and how to develop safe and effective exercise prescriptions for healthy, athletic and clinical populations.

Accelerated Programs

B.S. and M.S. in Strength and Conditioning: This accelerated dual degree curriculum makes it possible for qualified students to complete both a Bachelor of Science in strength and conditioning and a Master of Science in strength and conditioning in five years. Students will declare strength and conditioning as the undergraduate major, complete liberal arts credits and prerequisites during their first three years, and finish graduate school in years four and five.

B.S. in Exercise Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy: Exercise science is one of the most used undergraduate degrees for application to physical therapy school. The typical program includes 4 years of undergraduate work followed by 3 years of graduate PT work. At Harding, we have created an accelerated program that allows students to start the physical therapy program a year earlier. After three years, students will have the prerequisites they need for the physical therapy program and after the fourth year they will also have a B.S. in exercise science.
