Interior Architecture and Design at Harding

Harding’s interior design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation with a balanced approached to the artistic and technical aspects of interior design. We provide students with fundamental skills, comprehensive knowledge and opportunities to implement these through the creative and relevant project experiences. Service to others and sensitivity to the environment are stressed.

Why study interior architecture and design at Harding?

Study abroad

Art, Architecture and Design International is a six-week international program for students studying art, design and architecture. The first two weeks are spent on campus followed by four weeks studying in locations in Europe and beyond, including England, France, Italy and Spain.

Chicago Art, Architecture and Design Trip

The Chicago Art, Architecture and Design trip explores various areas of interest. Interior design and graphic design students visit professional firms and agencies. Fine art students focus on galleries, studios and museums. All tour historical architecture and major museums.

The mission of the department of art and design at Harding University is to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, creative and engaged professionals deeply rooted in Christian values. American Society of Interior Designers

The American Society of Interior Designers prepares members to excel in a dynamic and evolving profession. ASID strives to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives.

What can you do with a degree in interior architecture and design?

Residential designers

Residential designers create and plans layout and aesthetics of living spaces including homes and apartments, ensuring functionality, safety and visual appeal. Working closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, they then develop concepts, plans and material selections to bring those visions to life.

Gallery managers

Combining your passion for art with your business skills, you'll be prepared to oversee the daily operations of an art gallery. Your responsibilities may include exhibition planning and installation, sales and marketing, customer service, event coordination, and staff management.

Game designers

Game designers are responsible for the concepts, rules and interactive elements of video games. They collaborate with artists, programmers and other team members to develop the storyline, characters, gameplay mechanics and overall user experience.
