Center for Cognitive Studies

The Center for Cognitive Studies is a research lab where students may join the research team and conduct research about human cognition.

Field placements

Students are exposed to a wide range of clinical and research experiences in a variety of field placements across central Arkansas. This is a semester-long course. Students also have the opportunity to design their own placements.

Christian perspective

One of the most important aspects of this program is that it is taught from a biblical perspective. Christian scientists teach students how they integrate their faith into their scientific practice and understanding of the world.

Alpha Delta Mu is the national social work honor society with the primary objective to recognize and encourage superior scholarship in social work education and to advance excellence in social work practice.
Alpha Phi Sigma is a national criminal justice honor society recognizing academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students as well as students in the juris doctorate field.
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in psychology, which seeks to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship andadvance the science of psychology.

What can you do with a degree in criminal justice?

County, state and federal agencies

Graduates may play various roles in county, state and federal agencies including working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the U.S. Marshal serivce. Through internships with local law enforcement, prosecution, defense and more, you will gain hands-on experience to set you up for success.

Correctional agencies

Correctional professionals typically work for state or local government agencies as probation officers or correctional treatment specialists. In these crucial roles, you'll have the opporutnity to help people who are unable to help themselves.

Law enforcement

Careers in law enforcement include local, state and federal police as well as forensic scientists, lawyers, professionals in homeland security. In any role, the goal of criminal justice is to enforce laws and regulations that ensure public safety and maintain order.
