Communication Internships

Students in the Department of Communication must complete a 160-hour internship for one or two hours of academic credit prior to graduation. Students are encouraged to participate in more than one internship; the value of real-word experience cannot be overstated.

Most students complete their internships during the summer after their sophomore or junior years. Students are responsible for securing their internship positions; however, they should consult with their major advisor. Most internships for communication majors are unpaid, but the experience can be incredibly rewarding. Some internships even lead to full-time jobs after graduation.
