We are the Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences is Harding’s largest and oldest college. It is home to more than 47% of Harding’s undergraduate students across 15 departments with more than 80 undergraduate majors and four graduate programs. We proudly offer the majority of The Core courses for all undergraduate students, educating the whole person by pursuing truth via The Big Questions — "Who is God?", "Who are we?", "What matters?", "What are our responsibilities?", and "How do we know what we know?". We seek to lead our students on the path to thriving and faithful service in their lives, careers and continued studies.
Our Mission
With Christ as Lord, we, the College of Arts and Sciences, walk with our students, mentoring as we teach, using the best tools of the liberal arts and scientific inquiry–classical study and hands-on exploration. We seek to lead our students on the path to thriving and faithful service in their lives, careers, and continued studies.
Join talented students from all over the world in an environment that thrives on creativity. Our students graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to become professional artists or designers. We offer majors that focus on painting, three-dimensional work, graphic design, architecture, interior design, and art education. You also have the flexibility to build a portfolio that targets many other niches, such as art therapy, illustration, art history, printmaking and photography.
Our mission is to provide, within a Christian context, a sound knowledge and foundation in the field and to enhance growth in critical thinking, scientific inquiry and Christian service.
We offer students the opportunity to explore the diversity of life on earth from a variety of scientific perspectives, to develop a sense of God-given responsibility to be good stewards of that life, and to prepare for careers that build on an appreciation of the biological sciences.
