Bible and Ministry Scholarships

Generous donors have provided scholarships to assist students who want to serve in ministry. Scholarships are open to any full-time student with a major in the College of Bible & Ministry.

Incoming freshmen and transfer students may complete the scholarship application the admissions portal.

Students with second majors in Theological Studies should send an email to theologicalstudies@harding.edu to request scholarship information.

Students with second majors in missions, as well as returning students may contact the chair of the Bible Majors Scholarship Committee by email at rdiles@harding.edu for scholarship application instructions.

Applicants age 24 and older may apply for scholarships from the scholarship page for the Center for Distance Education and the Equip Program.

Deadline: The due date for all application materials is March 1 for awards for the following fall and spring semesters. Applications received after March 1 will be processed in the order received, as funds are available.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, cumulative grade point average, character, service to others, professional promise and clarity of personal goals. Bible scholarships are NOT automatically renewed each year. Students must reapply each spring for awards for the following academic year.

If the student changes his/her major or leaves school, the scholarship may be voided for the entire semester in which the change occurs.

Equip Bible Online Scholarships

All students enrolled in and pursuing the online Certificate in Christian Ministry, Certificate in Biblical Studies or B.A. in Bible and Ministry (BMAC) offered by EQUIP--Bible Online in Bible and Ministry automatically receive a 50% tuition discount.

Directors Scholarship

Each year, four students are recipients of the Directors Scholarship and receive 100% tuition scholarship. To honor the rich legacy of leadership over Harding's Bible and Ministry training for non-traditional students, the scholarship has been named the Directors Scholarship (see the history of the former directors below). Recipients can choose one of four different bachelor degrees to complete: a Bachelor's in Bible and Ministry (BIBM), Bible and Family Ministry (BFAM) or Missions (BMIS)

Enroll and Apply

You must first be accepted to Harding University to be eligible for the Directors Scholarship. When you fill out the application, be sure to indicate you would like to apply for the Directors Scholarship. You will be prompted to complete an essay in which you should tell us about your interest in church work. In addition, ask two non-family members to send a religious reference to onlinebible@harding.edu. Recipients are determined after a formal interview. Applications are due by Dec. 31st each year to be considered for the following year's fall semester.
