Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship

Dream. Learn. Innovate. Compete. Connect with other student entrepreneurs and be mentored by alumni and community entrepreneurs in our space.

The Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship & Family Business was created to focus on entrepreneurial academics and competitions for students, as well as business development for startups and family-owned businesses. We curate quality resources and partner with providers to make them available to our students and the community.

Our Mission

We support the entrepreneurship ecosystem through academic engagement, training and outreach to build a community of innovation.

Our Founders

A second-generation Tennessee construction company, Waldron Enterprises, gave rise to the vision for the Waldron Center at Harding University.

The Waldron Center was funded by 1976 Harding graduate David Waldron and his wife Betsy of LaVergne, Tennessee. The Waldrons returned to an existing family business after college and greatly expanded its real estate development footprint. Their desire to create a resource at the University emphasizing family business and entrepreneurship led to the establishment of the center. David and brothers Charles and Greg operate Waldron Enterprises.

From classes, workshops and other resources -- to a fellowship of like-minded students with determination and big dreams -- our entrepreneurial ecosystem is rich. Students we worked with this year share some advice for those who want to start a side hustle or launch a business.

The Waldron Center is a conduit to connect entrepreneurs with the best training and resources in Arkansas. Our partnership with the ASBTDC helps connect small business owners with consulting and training, often at no cost. Visit the ASBTDC for training schedules and to inquire about consulting appointments, offered monthly in the Waldron Center and in the Searcy Chamber.

"Whether a student has a side hustle or an innovative product idea, we help them with skills and resources to develop that endeavor for the maximum success."

Director
