Management at Harding

The management major consists of four areas of concentration: health care management, project management, entrepreneurial management and business administration. The management core courses are designed to teach various aspects of management and leadership in human resources, operations management, business law and project management.

Center for Professional Excellence

The Center for Professional Excellence helps form connections that lead to internships, mentorships and careers. Additionally, the center exists as a valuable resource to alumni, assisting them in their professional careers and spiritual journey. We want to be a conduit of information between current students, alumni and employers, providing insight for career decisions and job searches.

Study abroad

The four-week College of Business Administration study abroad program in London provides exposure to broad international businesses, multi-cultural diversity and extensive history. Students meet with and learn from industry leaders and see how businesses perform in a vast global environment.

American Marketing Association

The American Marketing Association is a business group that uses marketing tools learned in the classroom to help promote campus activities and encourage community involvement. AMA is nationally accredited and recognized all over the world.

Honor society

Harding’s chapter Alpha Upsilon of Delta Mu Delta inducts the top 20 percent of juniors, seniors and graduate students and recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities.

Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business

The Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business focuses on entrepreneurial academics and competitions for students as well as business development for startups and family-owned businesses. The center supports entrepreneurship and family business through academic engagement, workshops and outreach to build a community of innovation.

Arkansas Governor's Cup

Students may compete in the Arkansas Governor’s Cup competition in collaboration with students from engineering and computer science. Teams write a business plan to present at the competition in Little Rock, Arkansas.

What can you do with a degree in management?

Health care managers

Management of medical and health care services includes direction of entire facilities as well as specialized areas or departments. Health care managers maintain alignment of strategies and procedures with the organzation's mission and values while ensuring financial stability and overall operations.

Human resource managers

Managing human resources includes a variety of responsibilities including hiring and firing staff, collaboration with administration on strategic planning, and managing compensation, benefits, retention, performance and organization of company personnel. Overall, managers serve as liasons between leadership and employees.

Entrepreneurial managers

Entrepreneurial managers possess a wide range of skills including finance, innovation, marketing, sales and leadership. They help cast a vision for the company and provide innovative solutions to propel the business into the future.

WE ARE PREPARING STUDENTS ON A BROAD SPECTRUM TO BE OUT IN THE REAL WORLD. ON AVERAGE THEY WILL WORK SIX CAREERS AND 25 JOBS, AND THREE OF THOSE CAREERS HAVEN’T EVEN BEEN INVENTED YET.
