Education Programs

Our educator preparation programs are all recognized and approved by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) – Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). All programs are aligned with Arkansas Teaching Standards (InTASC) and Arkansas Educator Competencies. Graduates from our licensure preparation programs, who meet all the licensure requirements, will be recommended for an Arkansas educator licensure to DESE. Program completers seeking to relocate in another state are highly encouraged to check with that state’s licensure eligibility requirements, after seeking their initial educator license or licensure endorsement in Arkansas first.

Mental Health and Wellness Programs - CACREP Accreditation

Our Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling programs are CACREP accredited programs. CACREP accreditation signals that a program’s content and quality have been evaluated and meet strict, consistent standards set by the profession. Choosing a CACREP- accredited program also means the curriculum contains the academic knowledge necessary for professional licensure in many states.

CACREP-accredited programs assure students—and the public they will one day serve—that a program’s curriculum includes appropriate counseling coursework and skill development. It also ensures that the program is stable, both professionally and financially.

Mental Health and Wellness Outcomes Data – Annual reports, required by CACREP show how program leadership evaluates and creates plans for program improvement. Three years of outcomes reporting.

Center for Leadership and Development Programs

The assessment plan for the Center for Leadership and Development programs utilizes a portfolio assessment system, gathering course discussion questions, assignments, and final projects, along with student scores, to show that our students are meeting PLOs with an established benchmark of 80% of our students scoring 85% or higher on assignments that meet each PLO.
