What can you do with a Master of Arts in Teaching?

Teach in the Classroom

The MAT equips candidates with a knowledge of pedagogical theories, curriculum development and instructional strategies. Supervised teaching experience is also an integral part of the program. Through the program, candidates will work toward standard Arkansas licensure provided by the Arkansas Department of Education, opening the doorway to school classrooms across the state.

Teach Special Education

An MAT in special education prepares candidates to meet the diverse needs of students with exceptionalities. This degree provides training on specialized instructional strategies, individualized education plans (IEPs) and legal requirements associated with special education.

Increase Opportunities

Having an MAT typically comes with a pay increase, builds credibility among your peers and makes you highly competitive when applying for jobs.

Our priority is helping students achieve career goals — and even more — their life goals through teaching, leading and creating the foundation needed to make a difference in people’s lives.
