Audit a Course

BUILD YOUR BIBLE KNOWLEDGE — AUDIT A COURSE AT HST

What does it mean to audit a course?

As an auditor, you attend a course at HST but do not receive credit toward a degree.  You may attend class meetings in person or via Zoom, or download class recordings to watch at a more convenient time.

What courses are available?

HST offers a variety of courses in ministry and theology, and we try to make as many as possible available for audit. Some courses are not open to auditors as they require specialized knowledge or prerequisites. Check Student Resources for our current class schedule.  Members of the "Church Audit" Program may select from the classes listed on the "HST Church Audit Flyer" in Student Resources.

How do I participate?

First, find out what type of auditor you are below.

Traditional Auditors:

Alumni auditors

Spouse Auditors

Church Auditors

Note to Current HST Students:

If you are a current HST Student who wishes to audit a course, the cost is $100 per credit hour.  You will need to go to Pipeline and search for "request to audit."  This will lead you to a form that you will need to fill out.  Once your form is submitted, the Registrar's Office will take care of adding you as an auditor to the class.  You do not need to fill out the form below.

Please note that seat priority is given to students enrolled for credit. If a course has a limited enrollment, auditors may not know until the course begins if they will be able to enroll.  Class attendance, assignments and exams are optional for auditors.

Please note that if you plan to audit a class in-person on the Searcy campus, according to Arkansas state law, you may audit no more than 8 hours a semester without being admitted to the university as a student.  If you plan to audit more than 8 hours, you must apply to the university first and submit all of the required paperwork: https://www.harding.edu/academics/graduate-professional/graduate-apply/index.html
